Flower Care

FEAT-yellowss

In order to get the most out of your floral arrangement, follow these guidelines and your flowers will stay fresh longer. Protect your flowers during travel, and avoid extreme temperatures on the drive home.

Loose Flowers

  • Fill clean vase with fresh, lukewarm water and add flower food, following instructions on the packet.
  • Remove all foliage that will fall below the water line.
  • Before arranging the flowers, cut off about one inch of all stems using a sharp knife.
  • Cut them at an angle to prevent stems from resting flat on the bottom of the vase.
  • Never bruise or crush the stems as this shortens the flower life.
  • Keep flowers away from direct sunlight, heat vents, or sources of excessive heat or cold.
  • Re-cut the stems every 2 days and replace the water entirely if it becomes murky or cloudy.
  • Remove any spent blooms or foliage.

Flower Arrangements

  • Top up the vase with water as soon as you get the flowers home.
  • Ensure the water level is sufficient to cover the floral foam or is within ½ of the top of the vase.
  • Replace the water entirely, if it becomes murky or cloudy.
  • Remove any spent blooms and foliage.
  • Keep flowers away from direct sunlight, heat vents, or sources of excessive heat or cold.
  • For flowers that are not styled in foam, be sure to recut the stems every other day, trimming off ½ an inch with a sharp knife.
